Ms. Varsha Singh is the Commissioner General for the Seychelles Revenue Authority. She is a dedicated leader with over 25 years of experience in tax, customs, trade administration, and international relations across South Africa, Africa, and globally. Driven by her commitment to fostering world-class organisations and improving lives, she has advised, trained, and spoken on various platforms on critical issues such as base erosion and profit shifting, supply chain security, illicit financial flows, ICT tax, and leadership development.
Throughout her career, Ms. Singh has achieved notable milestones, including pioneering e-learning initiatives for the OECD Global Relations Programme and enhancing access to tax training for officials worldwide. She played a pivotal role in establishing the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) in 2009, creating a unified voice for African tax matters and advancing domestic resource mobilisation. Her international recognition includes acknowledgement from the Women in International Fiscal Association (IFA) Network, where she was celebrated for her advocacy of developing countries’ perspectives on global tax policy.
In her work with the World Customs Organization, Ms. Singh has contributed to successful organisational change in customs and trade and has led transformational programs within the South African Revenue Service (SARS), focusing on policy, people, processes, and technology.
